Blumenthal Arts seeks a L.E.A.P. Teaching Artist to assist with our Literacy Engagement through Arts Program. This temporary contract position expecting 6 to 12 hours of work per week for roughly 25 weeks ( September to March following the CMS calendar

Your impact: 

  • Serve as the lead teacher within the Blumenthal L.E.A.P. program as assigned. 
  • Prepare classroom materials in tandem with Program Classroom Assistant.
  • Facilitate provided curriculum and meet all program deadlines for projects withing. 
  • Implement program documentation including student pre- and post-program assessment, students writing files, and curriculum files. 
  • Maintain relationships and communication serving as liaison for participating schools, teaching artists and BA Education Team. 
  • Assemble and organize all student materials for the final product of the program, a book featuring an individual story and piece of artwork from the participating students. 
  • Contribute to program analysis providing constructive and proactive feedback for program adjustments and improvements. 
  • Arrange for substitutes when needed.

Skills You’ll Bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or theater education
  • At least 2 years of classroom experience
  • Experience in Title I schools preferred
  • Classroom management 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Problem solving utilizing creative solutions
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
