
Performing Arts Center (PAC) Coordinator
Location: Mooresville Performing Arts Center
Reports to: Chief Operations Officer/High School Principal
Salary: $50K – mid $70K

Position Summary
The PAC Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the Mooresville Performing Arts Center, including marketing, scheduling, facility operations, supervision, and technical support. The Coordinator promotes the PAC within the district and broader community, maintains equipment and supplies, and ensures a safe, professional environment for all users. This position also supports Mooresville High School’s instructional programs and serves as a liaison between MGSD and the Town of Mooresville for PAC use.
Key Responsibilities
- Market, supervise, and schedule all PAC activities and events.
- Provide technical services related to lighting, sound, scenery, sets, props, special effects, and stage operations.
- Train and coordinate technical staff and intern crews.
- Support other district theater programs with technical consultation.
- Maintain inventories, oversee purchasing, and ensure proper maintenance and security of PAC equipment and supplies.
- Coordinate PAC events with other campus activities at Mooresville High School.
- Establish and enforce safety requirements for PAC operations.
- Manage building use reports, facility cost evaluations, and determine applicable usage fees.
- Remain available on an on-call basis as needed.
- Ensure professional and businesslike interactions with staff, interns, parents, and the community.
- Serve as the district liaison to the Town of Mooresville regarding PAC use.
- Maintain CPR and AED certification (within 60 days of employment).
- Follow all Board policies, district safety regulations, and obtain any necessary licenses or certificates.
- This position requires regular availability outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3-5 years of prior experience in theater management or operations.
- Technical expertise in stage lighting, sound, rigging, and audiovisual systems.
- Flexibility to work collaboratively across school, district, and community levels.
- Strong management skills and the ability to motivate and work effectively with interns of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders, including but not limited to contact employees, interns, staff, parents, and community partners.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to operate, maintain, and train others in the use of theater technology, including but not limited to:
- Stage lighting and controls
- Stage rigging
- Production sound and intercom systems
- Audiovisual systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Marketing and public relations capabilities to promote the PAC and offset operational costs.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and enthusiastically.
- Commitment to working as part of a collaborative educational team.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Ability to bend, crawl, sit, move about, hear, and speak.
- Work in restricted spaces and variable lighting conditions.
- Tolerate high noise levels, bright/flashing lights, and occasional exposure to outdoor conditions.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds (with assistance when needed).
- Maintain visual acuity for detailed tasks and safety.
