Program Options
College & University Faculty & Staff
Do you want to help prepare your students for a career in arts management? Nominate them for the NCTC Theatre Admin Intensive.
- In-depth sessions on careers in arts administration
- Connect students to industry leaders
- Learn directly from prominent industry leaders
Nominate your most outstanding juniors, seniors, and graduate students who are considering careers in theatre arts administration, or those who may plan on starting their own theatre company. Each faculty/staff member may nominate up to 5 students, and multiple faculty/staff members from the same institution may submit nominations. Request special permission to nominate more than 5 students, or to nominate students in their first or second year of undergraduate study.
Participants will learn about jobs in arts administration and how to pursue those careers. Students will dive into numerous administrative topics in hands-on sessions, including fundraising, marketing, advocacy and non-profit governance. The Intensive will be a great resume credit, and students will earn a certificate of completion in addition to learning directly from prominent industry leaders.
$165 per student. We can accept payments from colleges, or from individual students. If the college wishes to pay a portion of a student’s fee, we ask that the college make the full payment to NCTC and work out the finances with the student.
Nominations will open in late January. NCTC staff will review nominations on a rolling basis and make final admissions decisions. Preference will be given to students from NCTC member colleges, and to students who show a commitment to theatre arts and a strong interest in arts administration. The Intensive is limited to 40 participants. Because nominations are reviewed on a rolling basis, the event may sell out prior to the deadline.
