From education to professional development, NCTC offers year-round programs to spotlight and support theatre in North Carolina.
High School Play Festival
Oct 30-31 & Nov 6-7 2026
Each fall, high schools from across the state at gather to perform and celebrate at regional festivals, and the top productions advance to the State High School Play Festival.
Middle School Play Festival
March 12-13 & March 20, 2027
Each spring, our Middle School Play Festival gives schools from across the state the opportunity to share their talents and celebrate their collective achievements.
College Day
November 21, 2026
A one-stop event for high school students to audition or present a design portfolio and meet 20+ theatre departments at NC colleges at our College Fair, all in one place, in one day.
Theatre Admin Intensive
April 2027
A full-day crash course in nonprofit arts administration, where emerging leaders and college students learn what it takes to start and run a theatre company.
Member Theatre Gathering
July 2027
Our annual retreat and networking event for staff and board members of professional and community theatres that are NCTC organizational members.
NCTC Awards
Announced annually in December
Annual awards presented to companies, schools and individuals who have exhibited leadership roles in their community, as well as artistic, professional or educational excellence.
Center Stage Fund
Ongoing
Help support our fund to provide financial assistance to theatre educators and students across the state.
Scholarships
Applications open in spring 2026
Each spring, NCTC opens applications for one of two rotating scholarships: the William Rackley Undergraduate Theatre Scholarship and the Constance Welsh Theatre Scholarship.
