Auditions: Sunday, February 8 at 1 pm and Monday, February 9 at 6 pm
Attend one day only.
HART auditions all 6 Main Season shows over two days, giving actors the chance to be seen by multiple directors at once. All performance roles are volunteer. Essential info:
Check-In & Forms
- Check in at the HART Main Stage Lobby.
- You’ll receive an audition number.
- Fill out one audition form per director you plan to audition for. Forms ask for:
- Your availability and any out-of-town dates
- Roles you’re interested in (saying “ANY” is absolutely fine)
- Your vocal part (if applicable – SATB)
- Any information that will help us support you in auditions or rehearsals
- Relevant experience
Headshot & résumé: Please bring a copy for each director if you have them. If not, just list experience on your forms.
Campus navigation: Maps will be posted in both buildings showing the location of each show’s auditions and callbacks. Help desks will be available in the Main Stage Lobby and outside the Fangmeyer entrance.
If Auditioning for Musicals (or Musicals + Plays)
Vocal Audition
- You will audition in groups of 5 in the Main Auditorium for all three musical directors at once.
- An accompanist will be provided.
- Prepare either:
- One 32-bar cut, or
- Two contrasting 16-bar cuts
(This is typically 1–1.5 minutes total.)
- Bring clearly marked sheet music.
Callback Board
After your group auditions, return to the callback board to see:
Which directors want to see you again that evening
Whether you need to attend the dance/movement call
Play Auditions (for people also auditioning for Musicals)
Once you finish the musical portion, you may visit any of the three play auditions at your convenience.
Dance/Movement Call
- Begins after all musical auditions finish.
- Helpers will notify everyone—no need to worry about missing it.
- Held on the Main Stage.
- You may change clothes/shoes if desired.
Musical Callbacks
Actors listed on the callback board may go directly to the directors who wish to see more following dance call.
If auditioning for Plays only:
Once you have checked in and filled out your audition forms, you can go to each plays audition room to complete your auditions with them.
