Auditioning + Portfolio Presentation Student Schedule

Arrival & Check-In (Main Building)

  • 9:20 – 9:40am Check in for Students presenting Design and Production Portfolios

Please do not arrive earlier than your scheduled time.

Portfolio Orientation (Movement Lab)

  • 9:45am Orientation for Portfolio Students

Portfolio Review (Movement Lab)

  • 10:00am – 12:30pm Portfolio Review

Upon arrival, we’ll direct you to the Portfolio Review room to set up your display. Parents can tag along and help with set-up, but are not permitted in the room during Portfolio Review. There will be a brief orientation to answer any questions and then the college representatives will start chatting with you about your work! While students are sharing their portfolios with college faculty, parents can visit the College Fair. After lunch, everyone will have a chance to visit the College Fair. Make sure you talk with all the schools!

Lunch (On Your Own)

You will only have a brief window of time between the end of Portfolio Review and your Audition Orientation. We recommend that you plan to eat in the cafeteria on campus, or bring a packed lunch.

Audition Orientation (Odell Building)

  • 1:15pm Orientation for Auditioning Students, Afternoon Group

Auditions (meet in Odell Building)

  • 1:30 – 5:00pm Auditions for Afternoon Group

Students will assemble in the warm-up room in the Odell Building at their assigned time, in groups of ~20 students. Students have 25 minutes to warm up, then are led to the audition room. After the entire group has auditioned, students are led back to the warm up room to collect their personal belongings. The audition process, from warm up through returning to the room after the audition, takes 75 minutes. The rest of the morning is for visiting the College Fair.

College Fair (Odell Lobby, Huggins Auditorium, Cowan Building)

  • 2:00 – 5:30pm

Callbacks will be posted in Cowan Hall after each audition group. A callback indicates that a school definitely wants to meet a student after seeing their audition. Callback or not, we recommend visiting with every school. Parents – you can also talk with all of the college representatives! Parents may join their students for orientation and College Fair visits, but are not permitted in the warm-up or audition room.

Free Workshop // Theatre as a Launchpad: Careers with a Theatre Degree (Finch Chapel)

  • 2:30 – 3:30pm

We’re offering our workshop, Theatre as a Launchpad: Careers with a Theatre Degree, twice on College Day, once in the morning and again in the afternoon. Bring your questions about how a studying theatre can transfer into real world job opportunities in the arts and beyond. Open to students and parents at no additional cost.
