ABOUT THE SHOW: The cold never bothered us anyway! When Queen Elsa’s hidden powers are unleashed, the kingdom of Arendelle is trapped in an endless winter. Determined to save her sister and bring back summer, the fearless Anna sets off on an unforgettable adventure alongside rugged ice harvester Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and everyone’s favorite snowman, Olaf. Filled with dazzling spectacle, breathtaking music, and all the beloved songs from the hit Disney film, Frozen: The Musical is a heartwarming celebration of family, courage, and discovering the magic within yourself!

**Note: Student and Public Matinees may be added after casting.  

Rehearsals are from 2:00pm – 10:00pm Tuesday – Friday and various times at the weekends. We may rehearse up to 42 hours a week. Your schedule and hours will vary depending on the size of the role.  

Pay ranges from $400 per week for local, non-union actors; $400 plus $20/day per diem for out-of-town, non-union actors (out-of-town is defined as living outside of North Carolina). This production is an AEA Single Engagement Agreement Tier C production, and the weekly rate is $769.00 per week plus AEA per diem, $25 weekly media bump, and health and pension contributions. Housing for out-of-town artists is available. All adult actors will be paid through CFRT’s payroll system and shall receive a Form W-2 for all wages paid. Youth performers will be paid a $200 travel stipend during opening weekend. 


For video submissions: All video auditions should be emailed to auditions@cfrt.orgno later than 5pm EST on Wednesday, July 29 (due to an anticipated high volume of submissions, videos sent after this deadline will not be considered during the first round of casting.) Videos should either be submitted via YouTube or Dropbox link. Google Drive links will not be accepted due to viewing issues. Please make sure all links sent are  viewable by anyone for easy sharing amongst the team. Include your headshot, resume, audition form, and conflict calendar in the email along with the show-specific material we are requesting. Please only read/sing for ONE ROLE. Reels are not considered a submission. Virtual callbacks will be scheduled for Saturday, August 15 between 10am-2pm EST. If we need to schedule you for a callback appointment, you will receive an email by Wednesday, August 12, at 8pm.

What to prepare:  Please prepare the materials (song cut & sides) provided below for the role of your choice. If you are interested in more than one track, please only prepare one as time is limited! Casting AEA and Non-AEA for the following roles:  

ELSA (Female identifying, Mid 20’s-30’s, Any Ethnicity, Soprano with high belt, F#3 to D5) The older of the two princesses and next in line for the throne. She was born with magical powers that she is still learning to control. In the past she has unwittingly harmed loved ones with them. Fearful of hurting anyone, especially her beloved sister, Anna, Elsa becomes anxious and withdrawn. Eventually she learns to take control, and become confident in both her powers and as a leader.
Elsa Materials 

ANNA (Female identifying, Early 20’s-mid 30’s, Any Ethnicity, Soprano, G3 to D5) The younger of the two princesses, she is imbued with a tremendous amount of light, energy, and love. She is a hopeless optimist and extreme extrovert. She longs for connection with others, especially her sister, Elsa. Must be a strong singer with great comic timing. 
Anna Materials

KRISTOFF (Male identifying, 20’s-30’s, Any Ethnicity, Baritone, G2 to A3) A hardworking ice harvester who has a sarcastic sense of humor and a rough-around-the-edges exterior that hides his big heart. Taken in by the Hidden Folk when he was young, he loves them dearly, but is a bit of a loner. Sven, a reindeer, is his best friend and trusted confidant. 
Kristoff Materials

HANS (Male identifying, mid 20’s-30’s, Any Ethnicity, Tenor, G2 to B3) An ambitious Prince of the Southern Isles and overlooked thirteenth son of a king. He boasts an exceedingly charming façade. Acts as a typical Prince Charming, but in reality, is self-serving andout for personal gain at any cost. Has no value for other people except for how they may benefit him. 
Hans Materials

OLAF (Any Gender, 20’s-40’s, Any Ethnicity, Tenor, F#2 to D4, must be between 5’4” and 5’6” for costume) A magical snowman created by Elsa when she and Anna were young. Olaf is endearingly delighted by everything – especially the idea of summer. Goofy and sweet, Olaf should possess a childlike innocence. Actor must have excellent comic timing.

DUKE OF WESELTON/ENSEMBLE (Male identifying, 30’s on up, Any Ethnicity, Baritone, F#2 to D4) A visiting duke with a huge inferiority complex. A bombastic, overbearing sycophant, Weselton’s sole purpose is to hobnob with influencers and royalty.

SVEN (Any Gender, Any Age, Any Ethnicity, must be between 5’11” and 6’2” for costume) A reindeer, who happens to be Kristoff’s best friend and companion. Fiercely loyal, though stubborn at times.

PABBIE/ENSEMBLE (Male identifying, 20’s-30’s, Any Ethnicity, Baritone) The mystical leader of the Hidden Folk who has a soft spot for “strays.” Along with Bulda, is a parental figure to Kristoff, and always has his and the rest of the Hidden Folks best interests at heart, even if they are a bit misguided in their efforts. 
Pabbie Materials

BULDA/ENSEMBLE (Female identifying, 20’s-30’s, Any Ethnicity, any vocal range) One of the Hidden Folk who has a soft spot for “strays.” Along with Pabbie, is a parental figure to Kristoff, and always has his and the rest of the Hidden Folks best interests at heart, even if they are a bit misguided in their efforts.

KING AGNARR/ENSEMBLE (Male identifying, 20’s-30’s, Any Ethnicity, Baritone) The warm-hearted ruler of Arendelle who is committed to protecting both his family and the Townspeople. 
King Agnarr Materials

QUEEN IDUNA/ENSEMBLE (Female identifying, 20’s-30’s, Any Ethnicity, Mezzo-Soprano) The queen who possesses a sense of rightness and kindness that guides her in her protection of her two young girls. A daughter of the Northern Nomads, this queen can communicate with the Hidden Folk of the mountains and therefore understands Elsa’s powers deeply.

OAKEN/ENSEMBLE (Male identifying, 20’s-30’s, Any Ethnicity, Baritione) An exceedingly cheerful and convivial wandering salesperson and ardent devotee to all things cozy and comfortable. Actor must be adept with humor.

YOUNG ELSA/ENSEMBLE (Local only, female identifying, ages 12-16) Elder princess of Arendelle with magical powers; obedient daughter; protective sister. Casting two youth who will alternate performances.
