College Day: Info for College Representatives

Overview

November 22, 2025

Greensboro College

140 College Place
Greensboro, NC 27401

NCTC College Day is the only event in the state that connects high school students and their parents to NC’s College and University Theatre Programs. At the event, you’ll have the opportunity to watch auditions, review portfolios, and showcase your program to underclassmen and seniors who want to meet you! This is a great opportunity to recruit your incoming class and connect with your colleagues from across the state!

We recommend bringing at least 3 faculty/staff members to NCTC College Day, to take full advantage of the recruitment opportunities. Several things happen simultaneously at this busy event and you won’t want to miss any of the action! The more representation for your school = the more interaction you’ll have with students and parents!

We also encourage you to bring current college students to assist with recruiting. College students do not need to register and you will not pay a fee for them to attend.

  • 9:15-9:30am: College Fair Set Up

Orientation

  • 9:45am Portfolio Review Orientation | Movement Lab
  • 9:45am Audition Orientation | Proctor Hall West Rm 109

College Fair (Odell Lobby, Huggins Auditorium, Cowan Building)

9:30am – 12:30pm & 2:00pm – 5:30pm

This is your opportunity to meet every student! Our college promotional tables will be set-up in three areas: the Odell Lobby, Huggins Theatre (Odell Building) and the Cowan Lobby. Students and parents will have ample time to explore the entire College Fair. Make sure you have faculty, staff or current students stationed at your table all day, so you don’t miss any potential recruits!

Portfolio Review (Movement Lab)

10:00am – 12:30pm

Students in grades 9-12 will set-up portfolios for you to review. The room is free-flow, the students are stationed at tables and you roam the room and talk with each student. Students have a checklist to keep track of which schools visit their table and are directed to meet other schools at the College Fair when portfolio reviews conclude. There are no callbacks posted for portfolio review students.

Auditions (Parlor Theatre – Main Building)

10:00am – 1:00pm  & 2:00pm – 4:55pm

Watch students in grades 9-12 audition with a monologue/song and give callbacks to students you feel will be a great fit for your program. College representatives will receive digital files of student actor photos and resumes prior to the auditions. Bring a laptop or tablet to access these files during the auditions.

Callbacks (Odell Lobby, Huggins Auditorium, Cowan Building)

For Actors Only

After you observe the student auditions, and using the information they provided when registering, you will identify the students you wish to “call back.” Callbacks are posted after each audition group and those students will be directed to visit your table at the College Fair to receive more information about your program! You’ll want to have someone at your table throughout the day to provide this information to students. We encourage all students (regardless of callbacks) to visit with all colleges.
