The Green Room Community Theatre announces auditions for Junk

Auditions Announcement for “Junk,” A Bass~Hartman Musical

With music by Jeff Hartman and book by Molly Bass, “Junk” is a quirky and heartfelt original musical about yard sales, personal baggage, and the unexpected treasures we find in each other. This 10th-anniversary production offers a unique opportunity for cast members to originate new songs and contribute to an updated cast recording of the show.

Auditions for this production will be held on June 9 and 10 at 7 p.m., with callbacks (if needed) on June 11. The show is being directed by Molly Bass and Jeff Hartman, with Jeff Hartman also serving as music director.

Roles are available for adults and teens ages 16 and up. All ethnicities and gender identities are welcome. Detailed character descriptions and additional information can be found on the audition page of our website at thegreenroomtheatre.org/auditions. All performance roles are volunteer.

For the singing portion of the audition, please prepare 32 bars from one of the approved selections from “Junk.” Specific song options and sheet music are available on our website. The audition will also include readings from the script. Please dress comfortably and be ready to move as needed.

You must be available for all performances, scheduled for Sept. 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21, 2025. Please bring your list of rehearsal conflicts to the audition. Attendance at all tech week rehearsals (the week before the show opens) is mandatory unless a rare exception is approved by the director in advance. Conflicts do not necessarily exclude you from being cast.
