Auditions for Moana Jr. will be on Sunday, November 3 at 7 pm & Monday, November 4 at 7 pm.
Show Dates: January 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, 31 & February 1, 2, 2025
Jana Sales will direct and choreograph Moana Jr., with Ava Miller as music director, and Bethany Spears and Paulie Sales as stage managers.
Moana Jr auditions are open to grades K- age 18. Most roles will be given to students in grades 3-12. All performance rolls are volunteer.
The music portion of this audition will require a 16-32-bar cut of a musical theatre or Disney song. Please, no pop/rock songs. Please bring sheet music to your audition; an accompanist will be provided. You may be asked to do vocalizations after you sing your cut. If you are not asked, don’t worry, that doesn’t mean you won’t be cast.
Moana Jr will consist of a dance ensemble. These students should be intermediate to advanced dancers. The dance ensemble will audition at 6:00 on November 3rd and 4th. Students may choose to stay for the rest of the audition process or audition strictly for the dance ensemble. Dancers with a background in jazz, musical theatre, modern/lyrical, and acrobatics are encouraged to audition.
You must be available for all performances scheduled for January 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, 31, and February 1, 2, 2025, and a Producer’s night TBD. Please bring your list of rehearsal conflicts with you. You MUST be able to attend all of the tech week (the week before the show opens) unless, in rare emergency cases, an exception is approved by the director before being cast.
Auditions will be held at the Old Post Office Playhouse, located at 10 South Main Avenue, Newton, NC 28658. Please enter at the lower level door at the back of the building (on South Ashe Avenue). DO NOT PARK at the South Square parking lot that is next to the theatre. Please use street parking or public parking lots.
The Green Room Community Theatre is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. As such, we encourage performers of all races and ethnicities, gender identities, sexualities, abilities, and ages to attend every audition.
