The Green Room Community Theatre announces auditions for The Miss Firecracker Contest

The Green Room Community Theatre will hold auditions for “The Miss Firecracker Contest” on Sunday, April 6, and Monday, April 7, at 7 p.m at the Old Post Office Playhouse (10 S Main Ave, Newton). Written by Beth Henley, this delightful comedy follows Carnelle Scott as she competes to win the local beauty contest and change everyone’s perception of her. With a colorful cast of characters, this production promises heart and humor.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script. The production will be directed by Sylvia Schnople and is being produced by Interstate Foam & Supply. All performance roles are volunteer.

Availability is required for all performances, scheduled for June 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22. Please bring your list of rehearsal conflicts to the audition. Attendance at all tech week rehearsals (the week before the show opens) is mandatory unless a rare exception is approved by the director in advance. Conflicts do not necessarily exclude you from a role.

The Green Room Community Theatre is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion and encourages performers of all races and identities to audition.
