Three Bone Theatre seeks Production and Operations Manager

Three Bone Theatre is currently hiring for the position of Production and Operations Manager. Applications will be accepted through end of day on Friday, October 18.

Reports To: The Production and Operations Manager will report to the Artistic and Operations Director. The Production and Operations Manager will work closely with the Executive Director, the Education Manager. They will work with the Board of Directors as needed.

Location & Schedule: This hybrid position includes a set number of in-person hours in Charlotte, NC most weeks and requires evening and weekend availability for approximately 15 weeks each year.

Overview:
The Production and Operations Manager is a key member of the leadership team of Three Bone Theatre. The Production and Operations Manager will manage the logistics of productions and key special events. They will also support day to day operations and the administrative needs of the organization, including social media accounts. This role will work very closely with the Artistic and Operations Director on the day-to-day function of the organization and will work closely with the Executive Director on overall strategy for the organization.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage logistics for four annual productions and 2-3 special events
    • Tasks include contracting technical artists and designers, leading production meetings, managing budgets, attending key rehearsals, overseeing load-ins, strikes, and all of tech week.
  • Lead Front of House operations during productions including managing volunteers.
  • Assist the Artistic and Operations Director with key operations
    • Includes ticketing, customer service, development, grant management, and project management.
  • Provide administrative support
    • Includes scheduling, correspondence, inventory management, document organization, and data entry.
  • Manage Three Bone Theatre’s social media platforms and assist leadership with artist and patron communications.
  • Participate fully as a leadership team member
    • Attend leadership and Board meetings as required.

Qualifications:

  • A genuine belief in the mission to use theatre as a catalyst for conversation and change in Charlotte.
  • Dedication to equity and inclusion, with a willingness to implement the organization’s equity plan in assigned responsibilities.
  • At least 2 years of relevant theatre production experience (stage or production management is a plus).
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized.
  • Collaborative, with the ability to work well with diverse personalities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Proficient in computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Canva is a plus.
  • Social media proficiency (Facebook and Instagram; experience with Tiktok is a plus)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects from start to finish.
  • Capable of handling multiple high-priority projects.
  • Reliable transportation to events around Charlotte is required.
  • Must be able to manage and inspire artists at different phases of their careers to collaborate for the benefit of the production as a whole

Employment Period
Three Bone Theatre is looking for an employee who can agree to an employment period of at least two years, barring any issue of dismissal for cause. Expectations of employment will be reviewed formally once a year to ensure alignment to the original intent of this agreement and an appropriate performance improvement plan will be communicated if the Company does not feel that expectations are being met and that improvement is possible. We anticipate this employee starting January 1, 2025.
